I received an email from PKR today (which is the word poker minus the vowels) that reminded me of the contest. At the bottom of the email it says “Please vote for PKR (and me) at the 2007 CAP Euro Awards; http://capawards.com” where the ‘and me’ is affiliate manager Margaret Burke. She, along with the rest of the nominees are going to have some stiff competition due the high caliber people we have selected for the first awards showcase.
This is the first ever awards presentation in the online gaming industry and is sure to spark some serious interest. A lot of affiliates and marketing people have their favourites in the business and this is a great way for you to back your best people and cast your vote here,
The awards (Cappy) will be given out to the respective winners on Friday, January 25th in London at the next CAP Euro affiliate conference. I think this is a great asset to the industry as it provides both excitement and petitioning (as seen above). After speaking with a few of the nominees in Barcelona I sense that these people are serious about winning the award. This is awesome for affiliates as it ensures you will receive the utmost response time and customer service possible. I am personally really interested in seeing how the voting turns out and who walks away with the bling in their hand.
A lot of industries have awards shows for excellence in their respective fields. I saw that A4U is hosting one this week at their show as well. We have a lot to look forward too as our industry grows and matures.
