Wordpress pings the search engines that's true but if the blog post is well optimized for search engines, it stays there for long er time in search engine result pages at top positions. It is search engine friendly right out of the box. However, when a new theme is added, the SEO may or may not be retained. It wasn't really a question, I was just asking the authors opinion and curious why he didn't mention it. Seems he didn't want to respond. I agree that your homepage is always changing so it may not be a great landing page from the search engines because it may not be the same one day from the next. The posts themselves are really just pages... I stand by the fact that Wordpress are great to use for affiliate sites....and besides...you can use Wordpress as a CMS and remove all of the bloginess from it.
