When choosing an online poker affiliate program to promote, how important is the poker affiliate software used by the poker room? Should it be the most important element of your choice, or does it come in somewhere behind other considerations such as poker room brand and commission and/or CPA offered?

The truth is, as in most matters like this, somewhere in between. I don’t mean for that to sound non-committal — we all know giving advice that tells you to figure it out on your own isn’t advice at all. But take this as the most important piece of advice: Poker affiliate software shouldn’t be that big of a factor in your decision of what poker affiliate programs to promote. It’s definitely not at the top of the list.

The poker affiliate programs you choose will ultimately work for you because of a number of factors: What poker affiliate CPA is offered, what poker commission rate is available, how payments are accepted, etc. Most of the time, this is based on the poker room’s preferences, and not on the basis of what Internet poker affiliate software that room is using.

For example, the Cake Poker network utilizes Poker Affiliate Solutions software. Most poker rooms on the Cake Network, then, like DoylesRoom, also use Poker Affiliate Solutions. But not all of them do—and those that do can still vary in the services and benefits they offer. You’ll want to check the details on each. The same holds true of the other major poker affiliate software providers such as Netrefer and Income Access. While it’s not a bad idea to research a poker affiliate software provider’s reputation before you decided to do business with a poker room on its network, you shouldn’t based your decision on it entirely. (All of the poker affiliate software providers mentioned here have pretty good reputations, for what it’s worth — although, of course, you’ll always find someone to disagree with that.)

But in general, “poker affiliate software” is a term that doesn’t mean much beyond “poker affiliate program”. The bottom line, then, is that there are no easy answers when it comes to poker affiliate software. Check out the CPA, the commissions, the poker affiliate rakeback options (if desired or offered), and figure out what comes closest to offering what you want. Look at brand strength and conversions, too — after all, great commissions aren’t of much help if nobody wants to play at the poker room.
