As part of its mission to bring pressure on U.S. lawmakers to get UIGEA repealed — by making sure that lawmakers know in no uncertain terms that the law is anti-democratic in its goal to prohibit an otherwise legitimate source of business –Â the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) (www.pokerplayersalliance.org) will hold a four-hour poker tournament at next week’s Democratic National Convention.

The tournament is for charity, with all winnings from the tournament donated to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, a veterans service organization that U.S. veterans with issues such as health care and education. About 200 professional poker players, lawmakers, aides and delegates (and PPA members) are expected to participate.
If you happen to be in Denver next week, check out the tournament! This is definitely a cause for us all to get behind. For more details, click here.
