December 1, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Rumors swirling around in November that claimed the Borgata Poker Open was about to be removed from the World Poker Tour 2009 schedule have finally been confirmed by the company.

Originally intended to kick off at the end of January, the
Borgata Poker Open has been removed entirely from the WPT Season 7 program. There has been no
official word so far on why the event has been canceled.

All
is not lost to Borgata poker fans. The WPT
event has been replaced with its own tournament, which is scheduled to take place at a future date to be
announced — probably coinciding with the Borgata Winter Poker Open.
