What could you achieve as a poker affiliate if you focused on an important, exciting outcome for 100 days? Especially if you had a support structure that pulled your forward, so that you could accomplish something really significant?
This is the theme of a group project I'd like to start here called "The Poker Affiliate Challenge".
Here's how I envision it working:
1 - Everyone participating selects an exciting goal to work on for the 100 days of the program.
2 - Each participant breaks that goal down into 100 actionable steps, preferably the same step that you can repeat every day for 100 days.
3 - Participants share their progress here in a special forum I'll create just for the 100 day Challenge. (In other words, we'll create a place where we can cheer each other on and encourage each other.)
4- We'll keep a scoreboard where participants can see graphically how well everyone is staying on track toward their 100 day goal.
Here are some examples of 100 day goals you might want to work on:
- Write 100 (200, 300, 1000?) pages of poker content.
- Get 100 (200, 500?) new link exchange partners.
- Get 100 one-way links.
- Write 200 pages of a poker ebook.
- Play 1000 SnG's (10 per day) and blog about the results.
- Go for 100 60 minute walks. (Hey - staying fit makes you a better poker affiliate too...)
Those are just some ideas. You could do anything really. And the great thing about dividing it into 100 steps is that if you miss a step one day, you can make up for it by completing 2 steps the next day. (So you can still get 100% of the way there and take Thanksgiving and Christmas off.)
Try to choose something that would be an action you could take that would have a measurable outcome. If you can write 1000 pages of content instead of 100 pages in 100 days, then use that as your goal. The measurable outcome of that would be the additional search engine visitors your site would see because of the extra pages, and the measurable outcome of that would be more revenue.
If you'd be interested in playing along with something like this, post here. If there's enough interest, I'll set up a forum specifically for the Poker Affiliate Challenge.
I'd like to set a start date for the 100 day project of next Friday, October 21.
That would give us all about a week to decide on what we want to work on for 100 days, and that would give us a finish date of January 28, 2006.
Any interest?
