For "up to $10" you'll certainly get what you pay for, gl.

I find it really annoying that people post on this forum - which is probably the most specialized poker forum on the net - and offer 'up to $10' for a 700 word article!

I am all for competition and all that..but that kind of offer is still offensive to any skilled content writer.

Renee and MJ
I fully agree with you and i was also "not amused" with the post.

Competition and rivalry is all very welcomed on here and i am willing to do a lot to get new clients, but "up to" $10 for 700 words is completely ridiculous.

i hope these people will either stop posting or see their ways, although it looks like they had a reply

Vince

Tom ended up paying $10 per article, but settling for 500 words a piece. Although a bit lower then my typicaly rates I didn't mind doing them for him.

He was very easy to work with and I would work with him again for the same rate.

So I don't think it's fair to say that he shouldn't post on these forums because some of us will work for $.02/word, especially when the person is as easy to work with as Tom was.

Anyways just my two cents.

Tom,
I do apologise to you, and i never actually saw what i wrote in my post.
This was an error on my side and i never "meant" be be abusive...

I was just talking about the fact that around $25 for 600 words is very acceptable and if someone goes around offering content for $10 for 700 words then that means that some people will not be able to earn their bred and butter. Of course this is all done on a competative basis and if people offer articles cheap, you offer them cheap as well, but there is a limit to some. And this also offers the way to "quickies" people just put something together and sell it for $10 a pop and after that clients will never come back because of the lack of quality and might decide never to buy from the forum again.

I do wish Tom good luck with his new venture and with his writer(s) and if he needs truely unique content he is always welcome...

My open and publicly published apologies

Vince

Bingo articles/posts/reviews etc

Guys in all honesty if someone wants to offer their services for even a penny a word then I think they should have the right to do so. If your new gronnice you will find you end up with regular people...you shouldnt worry to much about competition based on rates as much as you guys are. If you provide your service and the quality is there then you wont have anything to worry about. Insulting someone because they are offering something cheaper isnt necessary really...no different then the guy who is selling a link for $50 and the other guy for $10...everyone and everything is different

Yeah I agree with Kaus everyone has a different situation and therefore prices are always going to be different.

I don't believe in the whole you pay for what you get phrase commonly used by some of you writers.

Also Gronnice who's to say that the person charging $10 is throwing together a quickie article and the person charging $25 isn't?

The price has nothing to do with quality. In some cases it may, but it's easy to decipher the good from the bad from viewing samples. So to say your quality of content would be better then someone charging $10 isn't fair in my opinion.

Also trying to say that the "low-priced" writer may scare Tom from the forums is kind of ridiculous don't you think lol?

Anyways I don't know much about you yet or anything as your new and I'm not the most active person on here, but you come off a little unfair in your justifications. Seems you also have trouble spelling which begs me to think my content at $10 can easily compete with your $25 content.

Just my thoughts as I feel a little offended that you continue slamming people with low prices. I thought it was an apology post above to Tom, but over half of it is bashing the "low-priced" writers lol.

-Scott

I forgot one thing what's this supposed to mean?

"and if he needs truely unique content he is always welcome..."?

Just wondering what your classification of "truly unique content" means?

Thanks.
