In true british fashion i am a massive english car van! Also i love most the eurpoean supercars to the american muscle cars. I must say i do love the chevett, it is a beast! I just cant see the need of 5.9 V12 when normally the smaller european car has a much smaller engine but blows these muscle cars out the water.

Im sure most of you lot on the over side of the pond will dissagree though :-)

Chevette, are there still some of those on the road?

XLR-V and it's 443 hp and 0-60 in 4.7 sets you back in your seat plenty and in a style no Euro car can really match outside of perhaps a Rollls which will set you back a lot more dough. I'd still prefer the Caddy though as the Rolls is still too old school for me.

Haha American cars are just so awful right now. But British cars aren't too great either. Whats your favorite supercar right now?

I saw an Aston Martin DBS the other day. It sounded great!

Well there's a lot of crappy North American cars but there's also a lot of crappy foreign cars too. Dollar for dollar the American cars, or the Big 3 cars since a lot of foreign cars are actually made in the U.S. and Canada these days, don't provide the same value for the buck due to the ridiculously high labor costs involved, including bleeding health care costs and shackling pension costs. In terms of quality though there's a few worth driving, but that's only my opinion. Dad used to like the Japanese cars and I took over his Toyota when he got too old to drive and what a piece of crap that was. I wouldn't take another one if it was free and that one was and still was a lousey deal with all the time it spent in the repair shop. Anyway I think that American cars are getting a worse rap than they deserve and they still sell a hell of a lot of them in spite of a lot of people's penchant for foreign cars

Having said that the DBS is nice and I will say that British cars are probably the best overall. I guess with me though I drove a Caddy for a good many years and I'm not one to drive crazy enough where it would matter and I'm more into oozing down the street like Aretha and not taking curves at 100 mph so some of it is a personal preference. A new Phantom may be nice but it's well out of my price range anytime soon and is a little old school for my tastes as well

Very true. Planned obsolescence is/was a big problem for American cars. My heart broke every time something that was ridiculously out of date would pop up in the news. Massively inefficient engines coming from the supposed forerunner of technology, how embarrassing. We're almost a decade into the new millennium and now Ford is talking about introducing turbochargers like they're a new concept? Anyway, true there are bad Toyotas too, like their throwaway economy cars, but if you want to talk late 90s Tacomas, Camrys, Lexus, etc Those are cars still moving about today, just on oil changes.

New Caddy is actually pretty good. Probably why they're still part of the "New GM". Makes me sick just thinking about that. But anyway, I had the opportunity to check out the new SLS and CTS and they both have pretty good quality. The CTS pulled MT COTY and the V is supposed to be a good M5 fighter. Great bang for the buck IMO.

I checked out the Nissan and my problem with it is that it only comes with manual transmission. I do know how to drive them but I'd never consider a car with this crap. Not only is this a nuisance but it takes me a couple of seconds to shift, you push in the clutch, shift, then pull out the clutch - good freakin grief!!!! Zero to 60 in three times as long with me behind the wheel anyway. I know some folks love them but I've absolutely no idea why.
