Default Just started playing

and people say I play well/good for a fresh player. But I keep making stupid mistakes that makes me lose money on a per hour rate.

I have a severely limited bankroll, and I really really want to get better at the game. I am willing to put in 18 hours per day.

My question is, is it normal to make stupid mistakes when you are just a beginner?(I started playing February 2011, before that I

The old saying that you don't know what you don't know certainly applies here. Having said that, it's not that hard to become a winning player. With this kind of committment it should be just a matter of time provided that you focus a lot more on learning and not just playing. I would spend probably 2/3 of your time on learning away from the table at this point, as there's little point in your just repeating the same mistakes over and over again hour after hour and day after day. A good place to start is to get a membership at one of the better instruction sites like cardrunners. You'll be watching how good players play and this will at least give you some idea of what you need to be changing.

So this will at least get you on the right track, however to be truly good you need to distance yourself from the pack and to do that you need to up your game even further, but I wouldn't worry about that too much now. You need to be patient and realize that this doesn't happen overnight.

I write a fair number of strategy articles for other sites around the internet, and I've got one I'm working on now you may want to check out. What I'm doing with this one is taking some very advanced approaches to the game and breaking them down in a way that makes the material understandable to even newer players. It's still in progress but I have a nice start on things already. If you want to check it out you can find the series at Ken's Guide To Winning Poker | Poker For Free

Good luck and don't be afraid to post whatever questions you have on here as I'm always glad to try to help
