No question that poker players and casino players respond to different things. That is why the successful poker portals and the larger casino portals look so different. I always thought that poker sites seem to be more 'savvy' and web 2.0 but that isn't always what makes affiliates money...

With that being said I have seen the banners that display a certain amount of time for free (of course there is a sick amount play through needed to cash out). Players can come and play for an hour for free, if they hot a major jackpot they win. I'd be honest and upfront with them on it because a lot of players WILL try it. Ask your affiliate manager for a custom 300 x 250 banner and get them at least depositing!

Most of the free play offers you talk about dont matter if a player wins a jackpot . Most of them have a max of $200 , and you need to deposit before cashing it .

Good point there, I know a lot of sites have crazy rules on cashing out. However, it's great to get the amount of new players and downloads up under your tracker. Even if these players convert like crap it's a numbers game so the more interested the players the better. For these sort of offers you'll want to make sure there is a decent 'cookie life' and that you'll get credit of they deposit after a month or two.
