Default Help with PayPal dispute

I have ordered some work from a guy in the past and never paid in advance and i have always got my orders delivered on time and he has always been available on Yahoo or MSN.

About a month ago i ordered some more work (articles etc.) and sent the payment of $800 in advance since i felt i should be able to trust him. Well i was wrong because the since i sent that payment he has not been online on Yahoo on single time (compared to every day before) so obviously he has blocked me there. I am sending him PMs on DP where i found him and i know that he is online there every day and i know that he is reading my messages but he hardly ever replies and when he does it is just some lame excuse to buy time.

So now i need to know if it is possible to start a PayPal dispute so that i can get my money back and if this is possible how does one go about to do so?
The things i have bought are gambling related so i guess i should not mention that when i talk to PayPal either since it seems a lot of people are getting their accounts blocked for dealing with gambling related stuff through PayPal.

If anyone has any experience with this kind of thing i would really like your advice.

Thanks!!

I opened a dispute via paypal for translations that I ordered and never received. It's very simple really. Open the dispute.. include copies of any and all corospondance, even if it's in the email you send to the guy..

Then wait for his responce.. once it's become 'unsovlable' via the paypal email system, you escalate it to a claim (generally that's right after the guy admits he ripped you off) and then a paypal rep looks it over and makes a decision..

His account will be locked so long as the dispute is open, so.. if he has any money, he wont be able to dump it right back out before it is returned to you.

Also... being a rather close knit group, we genreally post the offender here, soas other ppl do not get duped into giving their cash away.

I would also post his name at DP.

One thing about paypal, they don't issue refunds for "services, downloadable products, etc.....so I don't know what article writing might include.

Hopefully the claim itself scares him into doing the right thing.

I had heard that as well, and article translations is a service, but I did win the refund.

If they dont offer refunds for services then i might as well give up and forget about my $800.

Never deal with stickyLink from DP (Digital Point Forums). At least dont send payments up front. Actually never send payments up front to people at DP. the only ones i will trust from now on are people from this forum, i have never ever been cheated out of a dollar by anyone in here, I usually get more then what i pay for when dealing with you guys in here.

Thanks for the help but i think i will just forget about it and move on.
