I have a friend that has a book store website. He has over 40,000 static pages one page for each book title. He has proposed a link deal to sell me a lifetime advertising spot on every page. I am allowed 5 links per page. I would use all 5 links for different poker affiliate sites.They would all be the same links though and all at the bottom of the page. What do you think this is worth? In dollars and from SEO perspective?
Come on guys, this is serious I really need your help. Diciding how much this link package is worth. I dont want to pay to much. Please let me know what you think?
It is very hard to determine the answer to your question. There are a lot of factors at play. The links will not be 'related links', this will lower the value. What is the PR of the site, how many backlinks does it have, what are the future plans of the site? These are all going to be factors in determining the value.
There is a value, but it would be very hard to throw a number out.
If you wish to play Online Power Poker, you will first have to Go Online and find a great Online Poker Site, one way to do that is to get some poker room reviews at Card Critic, one of the oldest review site for poker rooms around.
The site is a pr3 with not very many backlinks to mention but they do get good traffic. I think he plans on growing the site for the next 5 years at least as long as books dont go down hill like buying cds did after downloading music became popular like , itunes.com
Besides other factors that pretty much answers your question = not good.
If it gets good related traffic then it might be worth something but a footer link probably will give you crap for traffic so that pretty much throws that out the window too.
Wow , I thought that it would be good for some backlinks credit if I was allowed to build it slowly and not all at once. It Seems like the links should be worth more.
I think I could get them to allow the links in a side bar nav. But still the pages are totally not related to poker at all , they would allow me to include some inline links surrounded by text. Manybe this is not worth it? Sounded like such a good deal if the price was right.
The amount of pages doesn't really matter. It's probably all duplicate content from generic book descriptions. If you're looking to buy links for google juice, then I wouldn't spend any more then $15/month per link. It's hard to say though, without knowing the site.
Have him create a poker book section where you write the content. May help a bit to concentrate the traffic. But overall these links will do very little for you. Even more so since Google is trying to crackdown on sold links.
