Default Official Absolute Poker Super User Thread

just wondering why that thread re: absolute poker rumors got yanked, especially since it contained a comment from someone at AP, which is the only official comment on the matter?

am i missing something? did it just get moved?

I removed the thread on request of AP upper management. They will be giving the affiliates an official statement via PAW.

Hi All,

Thank you for your patience in this urgent issue.

Let me start off by stating in 100% confidence that, fair play and security is of paramount importance to Absolute Poker. We have temporarily frozen accounts that have been brought to our attention while we perform an extensive investigation.

While we are continuing with our investigation, we have yet to find any evidence of wrong doing. Our game client only receives data regarding the individuals hand and no other players hole cards, except in the event of a showdown.

The player’s and their respective actions that are in question, all come from a small sample of Hands. We have researched their play exhaustively and have found no proof that they had any knowledge of other player’s hole cards.

There were hands that were played poorly -- from a poker strategy perspective -- and these players did receive a fortunate result.
So far we have no evidence that substantiates claims that any of the players were involved in chip dumping, or any other improper activity.

Because of the seriousness of these allegations, we have not closed the investigation and are continuing to look very closely into this matter. We will notify you if we obtain any new information regarding these claims.

Kindest Regards,
Danielle

well, while the claims of rigging might be thin, the chip dumping seemed to be fairly clear cut, at least based on what was posted at 2+2.

that seems to undermine a decent amount of this statement. i understand the desire to poke fun at conspiracy nuts, but something still isn't right here...

A few of you PM'd me with concerns of why I removed the original post. While I'm not 100% certain if it was the right thing to do, I just did what felt right at the time.

I made a blog post about my rationale and thoughts on the whole issue.

Jeremy,

It's a tough decision when being pulled on both sides, one being AP asking you to remove the thread (they are an exclusive PAW partner so you have some type of obligation to them) and the other being all of us affiliates who want to openly discuss the situation in the forums. I try to believe in freedom of speech and the non-censorship of topics like this. If AP ends up being guilty in the end, then people might wonder why you had removed their posts from the forums.

I hope that this whole thing pans out the way it should. It would be stupid of an online poker room, whom basically has a business with revenue equivalent to that of printing money on a press, to screw over their players. We've all learned over the course of affiliating that the customers are the most important thing, and upsetting them would only kill our businesses.

Great post on your site by the way, however you did miss the key points that the second commenter makes.

Adio

True or false...even discussing such things is bad for business.....that doesn't mean that affiliates shouldn't be concerned about this issue but in the end talking about it can only cost us money.....if you feel a room is cheating players, dont promote them and if you know beyond any doubt that its true, EXPOSE THEM...thats what you owe your visitors...but unless your know something like this is 100% true is shouldn't be discussed openly on the forums...thats just my opinion

I disagree, instead I have protected PAW. I would rather not have that kind of dirty laundry being aired out on this forum. I'll let 2+2 worry about that.

Not sure what you mean by (paying me). I'll assume you mean my affiliate revenue. Anything else would be preposterous.

Furthermore I didn't protect anyone and AP didn't "ask me delete the thread". They said it was slanderous and requested I take a look. Absolute wanted me to leave the thread open and I chose not to.

Additionally, with their statement on here that is being linked to from everywhere.......I don't think I am protecting them by getting rid of the thread. That first thread is actually useless now.
