Bodog Changes Domain Again
What now? Do we change affiliate links again?
For Immediate Release |
| September 18, 2007
St. Johns, Antigua - High stakes, hot women and killer parties in exotic locales - Bodog has always known how to roll. It's all part of the company's play hard philosophy and now it's all part of the Bodog life, as the digital entertainment giant is pleased to announce the launch of www.bodoglife.com
Recently, there have been changes at Bodog concerning the company's domain name. Bodog temporarily used newbodog.com after their root domain was hijacked in a frivolous patent dispute. In an effort to move to a more accurately-named home, the company is pleased to announce bodoglife.com.
"Hey, the world changes, and if you don't change with it, you get left behind. We've been leading the good times for a long time, and nobody will leave us behind," said Calvin Ayre, Bodog's founder. "That said, although the Bodog address is changing the bottom line is: at Bodog, it's business as usual. Same great site, just a new Web address."
Though the domain dispute caused some drama throughout the company, a talented staff of over 1000 people rallied together and maintained the billion dollar business on a strong growth curve during one of the busiest seasons. In addition to debuting the new domains, the company launched a Football Fantasy site, announced the winner of their Bodog Battle of the Bands contest on fuse TV, launched multilingual customer service, had a Bodog qualifier at the final table of the World Series of Poker Europe and put a new season of Bodog Fight into post-production. Phew.
Bodog is still the most trusted place on the planet to get your kicks, whether they be poker, music, mixed martial arts, casino or sports betting.
This is Bodog. This is the life.
www.bodoglife.com. Play hard.

Yeh I just finished an article about this here....
As of now, it looks like we dont need to switch the links, but Im assuming they will to make our links look better and be more trustworthy.

As you know, there've been some changes at Bodog recently because of issues related to our domain name. We temporarily released newbodog.com a few weeks ago, and with the help of our partners this change occurred with very little down time. In an effort to move to a more permanent home we are pleased to announce bodoglife.com. Although the Bodog address is changing for good, it will be business as usual for both our partners and customers of Bodog.
With the move to bodoglife.com being a permanent solution we will be actively changing all of our advertising to ensure everything is pointing to bodoglife.com and are asking for your help in this transition by changing all active manual links.
The tracking to bodoglife.com has been verified and is fully operational. Simply replace `newbodog.com' with `bodoglife.com' in your links.
For example:
www.newbodog.com/welcome/xxxxxxx/
now becomes...
www.bodoglife.com/welcome/xxxxxxx/
We have updated our online reporting site so that you can continue to monitor your stats. To check your stats, please use: http://affiliates.bodoglife.com. The resource site which contains write-ups, news etc. can now be found at its new home www.bodoglife.com/affiliates. Please note, for affiliates using our XML odds feed you can access the updated feed on the new affiliate site.
If you use our double click banner code, we are currently working to update the code to the new domain. This will automatically update on your site and will be done over the course of the next day. For those affiliates that currently use the banner code from our affiliate resource site (www.bodoglife.com/affiliates), we will be posting new code over the coming days.
A press release was sent out recently which provides further insight should you wish to post information about the switch to bodoglife.com. Should you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
Grant Wong

"frivolous patent dispute"
Um, yeah, right. The clue patrol should have worked on the wording of that bit before releasing it.

Yay @ changing more links....again....
God they should offer their affiliates a special tourney for all the troubles they're putting us through -- lol. Maybe even a nice freeroll for the existing players or something. Ridiculous.

Absolutely right, and my bet is we aren't done yet. At some point they're going to get bodog.com back and we'll do it all over yet again.
Calvin is not giving up, no way, no chance - period. Don't believe the hype!
Bodog...err.. NewBodog....err..BodogWaysofLife...err...BodogNATO ...or whatever the hell it is tonight should place odds on a prop bet in the sportsbook on the chance they'll get it back. I'm going 1:4.

I'm sure one of these Shadier sites like Oddsmaker will book a bet for you on this.
Expect for it to be worded in such a way though that if it wins its graded a push and if it loses it is a loss. But if you lose you'll never know the difference.
