Daily work schedules
Saw this post on Justin's blog. Post your schedules in the comments there. It would be interesting to see how many of us actually work "real hours" or "poker hours"
I'll post mine when I get back to work.....later tonight. He's got a pretty good comment thread running there. Mine as well keep it going.

Work real hours?
I haven't had a "real job" since 88 when I was just 26 years old.
It took me awhile to learn the truth but.......
I'm 45 now.
Graduate from school.....get a job....work for 40 years making your boss and other people wealthy equals a slow agonizing death.
Trust me.
You'll regret it over and over though out your lifetime just like most of my whining high-school chums. Most of whom you would consider very successful by normal world standards.
I spent all day yesterday fishing on a friends luxury sailboat that I had met through internet marketing here in BC Canada.
On the way home we did a little gold panning in the Leach River on a friends gold claim and found a small 5 penny weight nugget....sweet!
Then I talked with Jeremy Enke on the phone today for the very first time.
Nice guy our Jeremy.
We're working on a project together that you guys will just love. Stay tuned.
You can live your dream.
You can make a good living online.
Don't listen to the naysayers especially your loved-ones.
They mean well.... but just don't understand us internet marketing freaks.
Go for the gold and don't let anyone stop you from living out your dreams.
It's all about the freedom to do what you want.... when you want.
And that my friends..... is absolutely priceless in this world.

I couldn't agree more Dave. I'm currently in college as well as being a poker affiliate, and so many of my peers are totally blinded as to their career ambitions.
They are all finance majors who have to work their ass off in college just to get a job where you work 80+ hour weeks. When I discuss this with them, and ask them what the advantage of this is, they reply that they'll be making a lot of money.
Well, I don't consider $100k/year enough to basically sacrifice your social life as well as your health for.
I work maybe 3-4 hours a day, and I feel very productive during those hours, so I'm totally fine with that. The rest of the time I either go to class, work out, play sports, or relax with my friends.

I work minimum 8 hours a day online if I work at all. Once I get going, it's on. Most days it's more, and sometimes I take breaks of a week or two to refresh my brain. I sometimes work for 10 days straight, sometimes every other day for a couple weeks. Whatever I feel like.
I like working from my home and driving my own car and blowing money on weekends so I work hard. I also love that I've never sold out although facing very tempting offers and I continued to plant seeds for my future, seeds that are sprouting up everywhere.
The best part about it is I love my work. Give me the great game of cracking google over Halo 3 anyday. It's all a big game to me, and every minute is fun. I guess I am one of the lucky internet marketers that actually loves what he does and therefore it will never get old.
To anyone struggling with the solo route and thinking of going 9 - 5 I would highly suggest you be persistent. No way in hell I could ever go back to 9 - 5 work for an hourly wage. Instead I'll take the beautiful city views working on my condo balcony, beers while I work, outsourcing to India instead of boss outsourcing me, residual income and generally doing whatever the fuck I please anytime of the week.

Agreed with Kyle -- I did the college thing, had a sick job at JPMorgan Chase within their Investments division (doin' 9 to 5) and one day realized I didn't wanna do it anymore. I walked in, put in a 15-minute notice -- and never looked back. I can't lie and say I don't miss it sometimes...but then when I'm out golfing, hanging out with my buds, partying, and of course playing poker whenever the #$%@*+ I want -- well, let's just say those things get put on the backburner of my mind....haha.
I work anywhere from 4 to 10 hours a day, with breaks in between to brainstorm and "meditate" on new ideas and what I could do better to make myself a stronger force in this game. Thank God for PAW and a lot of AM's and people I've met on here....I might go insane some days without being able to talk to you on MSN or AIM, lol. The details and focus you have to put into your own sites is a tough task, and sometimes non-profitable at all the first few months -- but in the end, once everything starts clicking and you start reeling in traffic, RMPs, and advertisers, it makes it ALL worth it.
BTW, did I mention I also love only sleeping 4 hours a night? LOL.
If you're ever bored and need to talk and swap ideas or whatever, you can basically find me on anytime online except maybe a few hours in the evening and 9 am to noon during the day (golf, naps, etc -- heh)...heh.

I generally get out of bed between 10am-12pm. I check my email, a few websites, and get a cup of coffee with French vanilla creamer (I cannot live without it). After coffee, I wake up. I have a couple people that work for me who I call to check on things. If all is okay I go to work on my other projects like the websites or building something like a log bedframe, coffee table, or a porch swing. For me, making log furniture is relaxing and creative. I don't sell it, I usually use it or give it away to friends if they like something I've made. I might play a game or two of poker, typically on Bodog or UB. Around 3-4 pm I'm usually kicking it into a higher gear, working on the websites. I watch a little t.v. with my wife during prime time hours, then back to work until 4-5am. I go back to bed and do it all over the next day. I love my schedule, it allows me to do what I want, when I want. If my wife and I feel like a vacation, we go. If we want to take the Jeep out for the weekend, we go. I have two other businesses that I don't need to spend too much time with on a weekly basis. I have a guy that runs both of them, a guy who I trust with my life as well as my business. 100% of the money I make from those businesses goes into retirement, and my wifes income along with my affiliate business pays our bills and for play time. The one thing I never, ever do is change my retirement plans or touch that money. I pretend it doesn't exist so I don't blow it all on poker or cars or crap I really don't need. I want to retire as young as possible as my freedom is worth everything to me. I have friends who work a zillion hours a week, make lot's of money and have nothing to show for it. One particular friend has 2 silver Mercedes Benz's, one is brand new, the 'old' one is 3 years old. He just bought a very expensive house and bitches about how much it costs to run his A/C. So, he rarely runs it and the house is 80-90 degree's inside during the summer! Priorities a little f^&*ed up IMO. I have a new site going online here in a couple weeks, one that I've put ridiculous hours into. It'll be by far my best site, and hopefully another step forward. I have several other ideas I'd like to get to at some point, but it's all about time.
Here's my goal in life - the swim up bar. But you can't hang out at the swim up bar for long if you don't have the cash socked away.

I wake up at around 10am and log in to check my email. I usually go to forums and blogs that I read for the next hour. I check my stats and then spend about 2 hours on my websites. Then around 2ish I go golfing... The people at the golf course know me because I come 3-4 times a week. Then after I do a bit more work but mostly check the forums and maybe play a bit of poker. Loving life after college...I think about getting a job to have a steady income but how can I give this life up?

-Wake up check news sources and emails to see if any updates need to be made
-Go check the waves, surf if there's waves
-If no waves go golfing and wish I never went after playing so badly
-Hang out with friends & buy them dinner after losing at golf
-Do research at night and watch tv to try and fall asleep

The working day 'gap concept' exists for me... between what I plan to do and what actually gets done!
Slowly getting better, spend anywhere between 2 and 5 hours writing content each day (for other PAW members mostly!).
Rather than list a schedule here is what I plan to not spend time doing...
- Checking Stats far too often
- Playing poker, ok so I win (small amounts) but this is not a long-term benefit
- Surfing various finance / poker and all sorts of other websites
Guess there are worse than me out there, but sometimes irritate myself with lack of progress towards my goals!!
Cheers, Mark

I'm jealous of you guys that do this full time. Your productivity has to go wayy up when the only thing you have to do is work online. I could make this my only "job" right now, but my other job is just too damn hard to walk away from. I would definitely enjoy the possibility of having a set routine, because right now mine varies greatly.
