A question about .com domain owner info

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to NOT have your own name displayed when someone is doing a WHOIS search

Either enter a false name in your registrar admin panel or upgrade to a private registration. There's a thread somewhere recently talking about this.

I wouldn't enter false information as that could get your domain taken away. The best thing to do is add privacy through your registrar. Or use a company like www.domainsbyproxy.com

Sure there's a possibility of getting it taken away and includes risk. Some names you register simply aren't worth the extra bucks for private, ie. MFA, blackhat, test sites etc.

If it's a longterm domain then of course go for the private reg route. I always do via DBP.

Back in the day we would set all domains in private and block out everything. You had to do that because you had no idea how deep the gov't was going to go with their anti-online gambling crusade. I think the new regulations that came out painted a pretty safe picture for affiliates and others involved, just not the banks.
