Default Does anyone here play Gin Rummy?

Coming back from the CAP Euro show I has plenty of time to think about just about everything. Spending 4 days and then a 12 hour flight with Jeremy left us both staring into space for long periods of time. I was flipping through the new CAP Magazine and saw Gin Rummy mentioned.

Now besides the Stu Ungar story I haven't heard much about rummy recently. (ok ever) The weird thing is that a good friend of mine is an avid rummy player and when I told him about it being online now he freaked out. I am wondering if there is a market for this that is SEO untapped?

Anyone here play gin rummy and if so are there more people like you out there?

I grew up playing rummy on the sidewalk with my neighbor, we weren't allowed off the block, there were 4 kids on the block. We played a lot of cards :P ..

Anyone playing in that $1000 affiliate tourney?

Also, alot of my friends are from Africa, they play a game called CONQUOR!!!! That's how they say it, like it's some big manly testosterone game, it's another version of gin rummy, played with more cards and a few variations.

I first learned to palm cards from those guys

Martha Stewart plays gin rummy, she taught some folks that won some contest the game a year ago and made small town news. There was a major gin rummy tournament in vegas this year (or it will be this year, they haven't called back just yet).

Lotsa ppl play, but I'd say the youngest generation is just learning

In Rummy you lay your points as you make them, in gin you don't lay down anything until you've used all your cards.

I played when I was a kid but we had "family" rules so nothing like anyone else - I have actually played on the Rummy Royal site when they were giving $10 away and am up to about $21 now - Woo Hoo!!!

It still confuses me a bit and I really can't work out how it is rated as more skillful than poker but hey who am I to argue

Oh also - Kalooki also goes by kaluki and and kalookie and a bunch of other mis spellings but they are the most common

Yeah i'm sure we've used just about every rule combination there is :P deal 11 cards, no 13, ok 7 lol. Around the world, straight up, no sets. haha, we probably had as much fun with the rules as the game, I probably have no idea how to play :P

I dont play Rummy much myself, but I started promoting it a little over a year ago with a few niched domains I picked up. I took a while to get them positioned into the SE's, and to see any action, but I'm finally seeing nice profit from it! I use RummyAffiliates mainly....

This is why rummy is the third most popular game in the world:

Each region has its own variation:
US - Gin Rummy and Oklahoma Gin
UK - Kalooki
South Americas - Canasta
Spain - Conquian/chinchan
Turkey - Okey
Italy - Ramino
France - Rami
Philipines - Tong-its
Asia - Mahjong (yes - mahjong is a rummy game)
and many many more....

Truth is - all of these variations are played the same - draw, discard, meld and lay down...

As you already know - most of the world, like your friends above have played it - in one form or another.
