To be honest and this is just my thoughts, I cant see them listening to affiliates unless you are sending traffic like Poker News/Poker Listings or are one of the top affiliates. Even then I wouldnt doubt that a "compensation deal" would be made to keep business rolling out as usual.

Nell myself as a player I signed up for Party over a year ago and just recently made my first deposit. Pokerstars - I had an account for almost two years before making a deposit.

This really sucks

I think that's the reason why they're employing this rule. They are paying millions for these ads, and if they manage to turn a fun money player into a real money player then they have essenitally done a lot of the work and paid a large amount of money to get that player. So I don't think they want to be paying affiliates for the RMPs that they are making through their ads, regardless if they signed up through an affiliate link.

It's not ideal, but I can see the logic. If you put yourself in the shoes of FT you can see where they are coming from.

The logical reason is - 20% of players who deposit TIMES 20-30% rake = HUGE DOLLARS SAVED.

There are sooooo many things that affiliate programs could do to create an awesome affiliate program...this is a step back.

I am still waiting for an affiliate program that has:

1. Minimal fees
2. Bonus codes you can create yourself
3. Banners that you can create yourself (and customize)
4. An edit your own landing page logo/url desciption option
5. Something the affiliate can offer ABOVE the poker room's regular bonus
6. Super response time with all English speaking AMs
7. Instant stat interface
8. Payments on the 1st of the month
9. Payment choices - other than player's account
10. Accepts any player who has internet in the world

When/Is this ever going to exist? You would think it CAN be done!

If ANY affiliate program can offer ALL OF THE ABOVE 10 CRITERIA - please PM me and I will CALL YOU ON THE PHONE and make sure you are my #1 program I ever promote!!!

I'm on CPA .

I have a ton of players who have yet to deposit but are collecting a fine amount of FTP's each month. I assume these are players who have a problem depositing and get friends to transfer funds to them. I haven't kicked up a fuss about not being paid for these players (they have to make a $50 deposit before CPA is paid) because I assume at some point they'll manage to make their own deposit and convert. Under this scheme I'll lose the CPA for all of these players even though a good proportion of them are very good value for FTP.

An unfair CPA system just got worse. Not a happy bunny.

I guess affiliates dosent really matter any longer to ftp, im discusted and sickened right now by reading this after spending so much time in the past getting new players to the site like everybody else is. I had a few issues with ftp before this, but am still promoting them. With this new rule there will be absolutely no space on my pages for ftp.
Whats next step??? "hey thanks for bringing us new players but we dont pay affiliates any longer, bye bye and %&/¤%&# U" ?
sickening just sickening. Im mad as hell and maybe i shouldent post this, but thats how i feel... totally screwed

I dont buy that. I have yet to meet someone who has seen a commercial on TV and thought dang I need to grab that. So if a player is sitting at home watching the sports channel and sees Phil Ivey saying "I play at Full Tilt Poker" your telling me he jumps at the shot to register an account and sign up just because Ivey plays there. No I think it has more to do with that. Personally I think having endorsed pros adds credibility to the room, but its not the only reason people play.

Whatever the reason may be that a player chooses to play at FT, the fact that someone else may have referred them, they already have an exsiting account but neglected to deposit in time doesnt mean that they wont have any "value" for the room or an affiliate.

Corp - Apply sometime for an AM position...I would love to see you running a program or working with one

I don't know if I can handle a job like an AM. I can't even imagine the poor AMs being the "messengers" that always "get shot". I do admire AMs and the jobs they do and the complaints they have to put up with.

In fact, I don't think a lot of the time, the AM is responsible for decision making.

It is like the Toronto Maple Leafs - unless the AM has TOTAL CONTROL - who would really love the job?

Weird how this happens right after there is a thread here at PAP talking about how great the FTP affiliate program is (or was....)
