First off, there is a lot of discussion on here about what people should and should not do. IMO everyone needs to attend things like this. For myself it was a great way to network and I learned a great deal. I was helped by the fact that I was a speaker but there were others who were able to get names and numbers that didn't. I will not be missing next years meeting that is for sure.

The panel I was on was interesting and quite diverse. There were 2 MGR guys and 2 CPA guys. We agreed on virtually nothing, was quite funny at times. We were only able to answer one question from the crowd (because of time constraints and we all talk too much). I think everyone did a great job of making their point.

The question we took was on customer retention (which is about as close to my wheelhouse as you can get). The other three guys made their points well and I was actually enlightened on their approach. Basically they consider it the sites responsibilty to retain the customers. The guy from PSO was very frank in stating that they send people to multiple sites and that it is the responsibilty of the sites to keep them. While I don't agree with that as a long term outlook I respected his honesty and to be truthful there is something to be said for what they are doing. They are quite successful and I think their OSOP will make them even more successful. He brought up a great point as well, when asked what makes his model work he said "volume". I have been saying this over and over again, everyone keeps trying to re-invent the wheel. If you plan on competing in todays affiliate market you either need to have a phenomenal niche or you need to team up with bigger partners.

For many of you if you are going to start at the lowest percentages anyway, team up with a bigger affiliate and use the power of their numbers.

If anyone is interested in checking out how I do what I do or would like to team up with Bodog, UB or any one of a number of sites, let me know. You can always e-mail me at p.nobles@comcast.net. My customer retention systems have allowed for no less than 10% growth as an average and I am in the top 5 of all affiliates on UB and top 10 of Bodog after only 2 months. If you just want to pick my brain, e-mail me and I will set up a meeting.
