Default AP Update :/ - Vista

Appearntly AP Updated, and is now NOT instantly compatible with Vista, my sister mentioned some troubles with a few programs not working with vista unless she right clicks them, and then runs them as admin..

That's what AP's software just told me to do.. worked fine yesterday .. Can't get to absolutepokerbanking.com either though ..

edit - when you run as admin, it doesn't remember your password, so make sure ya know that.. bbl, recovering AP password

Why do they try to fix something that wasn't broke?

You can turn off the "admin prompt" on vista.. I got so sick of it asking me about every decision I wanted to make..

It's not that exactly, though that does get on my nerves :P .. So far this new glitch effects the cashier button.. or that's the only feature that it effected for me.

And it doesn't matter if I access the program as 'administrator' or not, i just plain can't access the cashier within the client, if I open as administrator, then I am taken to an IE window where i can see my account balance.. same with recovering a lost password though, so maybe we're mid-update?

Vista is the worst thing I've ever experienced, I instantly reverted to XP on my latest laptop. (3 and counting this year, mac comes next :-)

That's why I was checking my balance, I figured once I get paid I'll be able to make some sense of the stats.

I've had the same issue using XP, so don't' blame Vista.

On a side note Vista is actually a great operating system. The PC Manufacturers and hardware vendors are the main culprits. There are two main things you need to run Vista efficiently.
  1. A good Video Card that is Vista Compatible for the Aero effect, I recommend at least 512mb of Video Memory
  2. RAM - one very inexpensive solution is to use a feature called "Ready Boost", basically you can plug in a USB memory stick (which are very cheap now), and then assign the disk space to be used as RAM. It really works slick, and adds some serious pep to your operating speed.
I have a computer that is 4 years old, I did those two steps above and it works like a champ, even better than my newer XP machine.

Vista's fine, as long as you turn UAC off. I turned it off within hours of getting it.
