Very official too folks - this is from Cake Poker's website:
“To all Cake Poker Customers:
We have received notice from ePassporte today that they are unable to continue to provide CakePoker with merchant e-wallet services. We have since confirmed that this situation is not unique to CakePoker and is, in fact, industry wide.
While we are disappointed with this decision, we want to reassure all players that there will be no impact to either your account balances or your account status at Cake. We are pleased to have launched earlier this week with a new payment processor and have already secured alternative processors/eWallets that we will be launching in the weeks to come.
We are also in discussions with other providers that will be making their services available in the CakePoker cashier soon. Players are welcome to inquire with Customer Support for more details.
As always, we value your business and will continue to make every effort possible to make your poker experience a great one.
Regards,
The Cake Poker Team”

Yikes, It's not sounding good. I just pulled $600 out of the atm, and it worked.

Cashouts are going through fine according to a lot of people and friends of mine who use epassporte. It's just depositing that is being prohibited at the moment, least from what I've been reading around the net. But who knows how long the cashout process will remain running smoothly. I'd be hightailing it to the ATMs pronto this weekend.

It is probably just a business decision by them.
I wouldn't panic. Then again....AAAAAAAARRRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
They should get Ecocard and Instadebit going at all rooms - works great.
Don't know why a new payment processor from somewhere in the world isn't taking advantage here?

After all the complaining about them, they actually did a serviceable job. I doubt it is a huge deal to be honest. It is just more of a hassle for winning players in terms of getting money out.
I don't think fish went to the great lengths required to do epassporte right. Obviously some did.
I bet there is another option very soon, they were just based in the US and that was a problem and we all knew it. This really shouldn't surprise anyone.

Upon reviewing the 2+2 thread, I see that there are two big money transfer businesses for Epassporte: poker, and porn. Not being a porn freak, I did not know that. It is good news for those of us with EP accounts, because although moving to/from poker sites is all but out with them, we should not see accounts frozen like with the neteller mess.
That doesn't mean I'd leave much on there, though...

I dont see any issues with epassport not paying... they have serious backing, by one of the nets bigger merchant processors....
