Brandon, I am willing to learn from you
Regarding responsibilities, some AMs (involuntarily) get involved in all sorts of company activities and politics - working for a previous company I was doing all sorts of tasks that distracted me from my AM role. I think the AMs that reply on time and are responsive are the ones with more focus on their role and don't have much interference from senior management in their companies.
Regarding revenue targets, I have worked in a company that paid me a bonus dependant on revenue generated as well as FTDs. I think it will be come more common for bonuses to be based on figures as results need to be produced.
The industry has evolved and this has resulted in better salaries and bonuses for AMs - I do honestly believe that AMs are not very well paid for what they do - it's a hard job that requires a lot of discipline and concentration if you do it properly though.
I can only speak on my behalf and of AMs that I know personally - it ain't easy receiving 200 emails a day from affiliates plus having to run reports, research, chase up exisiting partners, think of new ideas etc.
It's highly rewarding though
