Official Canadian Affiliate Meetup

Hey guys, I have spoken with our team about this idea, and after reading this thread, I think a Canadian Affiliate Meetup is a great idea.

In the next 12-18 months, we would like to host a full blown and proper affiliate conference in Canada. For now though, I think we should treat this like a "spring break" event and finish out the summer with some fun.

After reading your guys' thoughts, I envision this being a weekend event in Niagara Falls on either the weekend of Aug. 29-31 or Sep. 6-8.

The good news is 2 things:

1. When it comes to planning conferences, us combined with igaming business are experts. If we're going to do a meetup, let's do it right and have some fun events scheduled and a proper itinerary.

2. We have secured 888 as the primary sponsor for this event. With that I'm sure we will be able get some great parties or activities planned for the group.

At the end of this month I am flying to Toronto to meet with 888's Canadian country manager and get the ball rolling. This is going to be a great weekend event! Please share any additional thoughts you may have in this official thread.

You may want to go with the first weekend in Sept, since the 30th is Labour Day weekend and some may be unable to make it with the last long weekend of the summer .

Also I have been checking dates like mad lately as far as hotel bookings go, we should decide soon - many are filling up. If it's either weekend I wouldnt wait too long depending on where you plan on staying.

Good point Kaus, I didn't even think about labor day....... although this is coming from a guy who flew his entire family home from vacation on Easter Sunday!

Dang.... I just knew when I quit poker affiliating I would miss out on meeting up with all of you Canadian PAW members in the future.

And I'll be missing the 2008 Poker Conference in Cyprus.

I was born in Cyprus. My father was stationed at the Royal (British) Air force Base in 1962. I've been meaning to go back to my birth place all my life.... and now I'll miss that opportunity again.
