Don't associate one person's actions as a reflection to everyone else here. What you describe is really a fundamental business principle that is applicable to any industry, not just ours.
I'd like to alleviate your concerns: I've had the pleasure of dealing with multiple
PAW members on various transactions and I have not had serious issues with anyone. All of my dealings have been good. Some did not go as planned, but the individuals I dealth with certainly made an effort to ensure that I was a satisfied customer, which is all the matters in the end. Sometimes, things can happen. Good judgement and understanding can be required.
People I dealt with were recommended by other members. I don't deal with just anyone when it's time to pay upfront for a service, and I talk to people to get a feel. There's no guarantess in anything, and you are taking a risk when dealing with a person you don't know that well, but asking some questions can reduce that risk (but never fully eliminate it).
It seems to me like you really over reacted with your post in the sense that you write up this extreemly long rant (which I didn't finish reading either) to ask about a problem that could have been explained in one paragraph. This, as a follow up to an experience that wasn't positive, but not that severe either. It's not like the person took your money and ran. But they certainly didn't respect their part of the agreement which is a shame. I still dont' understand why you would associate an individual transaction as a reflection of what to expect in your dealings with PAP members. It's almost insulting in a way.
You say you won't name them, but honestly, I would love to know who makes a sale and then turns you down because he sold the same thing twice. The fact that they change the original terms and ask for the rest of the payment upfront to "pay their mortgage" is also a red flag I think. I'd love to know who they are simply to avoid dealing with someone like that in the future. Would you please PM me the info?
