Default Is google giving any weight to .tv domains?

In other words, is poker.tv as "trusted" as poker.net? (forgetting .com and .org for this question).

I haven't seen anything that supports .tv is weighted the same as .net.

.mobi`s are for mobile sites for one.

.info`s are usually found for $0.99 so they became quite popular with spammers.

My experience is with a limited sample size but I've tried running using .cc and .ws domains with limited results. .tv is the same category as these domains as far as I can tell.

Also, I would never recommend a .net for most sites to be honest. A .org for an organization only. Especially if you are concerned with branding or people remembering your site, that`s why poker rooms use .net as their `free` sites. They know damn well most people will type pokerroomx.com or just google it where the .com will come up. I bet less than 50% of people moved by those ads ever see the .net version.

I agree, but .org can be good sometimes. Just look at poker-strategy.org.

They are not, its just typically decent quality sites with good link popularity and content tend to be .coms.

You have no evidence to support you claims except that you dont see many of these domains. I have been a SEO for many years and have noticed little / no reference in how google treats your site depending on the domain, and if they do, its very minor.

Google is not rocket science, Good ranks are achieved by a) good site link popularity b) links with desired anchor tect c) matching onpage optimization to support a and b. Trust is being thrown in now but i dont think this has a huge affect on ranks at the moment. It is more for flagging potential spam sites for human review.

Price wise: Also because they are seen as inferior domains by the public. People usually associate a brand with .com and .info and .tv are less well known.
