Hi Amy
I got your PM, and actually those are two sites that I no longer own. Pro boards is a very long time ago, but I thank you for being as kind as you were.
Just a few tips from me as to what I will look at and what I wont so that way when you do email affiliates, they wont take it as spam..
1) If you did look at the persons site dont send an email with a generic body message or title. Make it interesting, personal, whatever just not the same old boring thing that we see endlessly. Also I received three emails from Spin32 in two days. Thats too many and one of them was titled
$$$ 40% $$$ Ending Soon. Now I didnt open that, it actually hit my spam box because it looks like spam. I receive alot of crap daily from random email addys for spin palace.
2) If you did look at my site and you found my email address through that site, than using my name might be better than Sir/Madam. That is the first thing that flagged it as a random email by some list you may have got your hands on. (which I hope you didnt buy a list)
3) If you looked at my site than mention it in the email, not we liked your site. I can say I like anyones site but that doesnt mean that I actually did find them through google.
These are just things that I see, maybe others are different, but if I see this in the email its automatically deleted.
If I were an AM and I was contacting an afffiliate to promote a new brand, I would do a bit of background search, look at their sites and direct my emails to them on a personal level rather than templates. It doesnt have to show every little detail about the poker room, but I would at least let them know how I found them, what site I found and what I like about it. Use some creativity. I would also provide them with my contact details and let them know that i am available on IM if they would like to know more about the program. I think one follow up email is appropriate..and anything above that becomes a nusiance ( or as of late named Lucky Ace)
As you can see from people posting about AM's nothing does a room better than having affiliates commend the program for a job well done by the affiliate managers. The AM's that you see here who are always getting " a pat on the back" so to speak are those that treat affiliates as people and not a commission bonus at the end of the month. Treat affiliates well and they will help sell your program without even asking them to...
