For starters my wife an daughter both have the flu so the Enke household is in shambles (as my wife is a much better cleaner than I am  ) Last night I accidentally dripped about a tablespoon of water into my 3 month old Dell laptop. Today has been a nightmare. When I got up this morning to check all my stats the keyboard does not work anymore. None of the buttons work. I am going to try to open it up and let it dry out tonight, but I am in the tedious process of copying all my files before I do that.

It's pretty strange, I can open up all the applications but just the keyboard doesn't work. So I went to Comp USA and bought a usb keyboard and plugged it into the laptop. That seems to work a little but the buttons on the laptop keep "sticking", the CTRL button to be exact and all sorts of boxes keep opening. I haven't found a way to disable the laptops keyboard. Oh yea and Comp USA tells me that no one works on Dell's because they can't get parts. So essentially I may have to send it away for a few weeks. How the hell do I run an internet business without my laptop?

Needless to say I'm sitting in my kitchen right now on my old pc that I had to hook up. Should make for an interesting few days. Oh yea and on the way out of the store some crazy fu%@$#* 16 year old kid backed into my lexus! Luckily there was no damage though.

Thanks for listening.................Just needed to vent B)

I bought a laptop last summer with my PartyPoker affilate earnings

I'm afraid to use it because I just know I'm going to still a beer on it so I'm keeping it as a back-up to my desktop and only using it when I'm on the road.

I'm not crazy about the Lexus but my goal it to get me one of those new Vet's by the end of next year. They are hot and not that expensive. Or maybe I'll buy that late model Porsche I have my eye on

Jeremy you are an inspiration to us all.

Good luck and have fun.

Thanks, ..............but actually I'm a dipshit for spilling water on my laptop I would love to have a corvette but unfortunately fitting a baby seat into one of those would be difficult. On a side note I bought my car on Ebay and drove 7 hours each way to get it! (highly recommend it) I saved 5 grand from what the same car would cost me in Chicago.

As far as inspiration goes, I am inspired that there are this many other people as passionate about promoting online poker as me. Most of my buddies just piss their money away gambling.

Normally laptops are built in the way that spills wont effect the mother board. Sometimes the keyboard will fry out. The bohter boards are position upside down underneath the keyboard. There is normally a pretty tight seal between the keyboard and the rest of the electronics. I would suggest taking it to a local laptop repair shop. They'll charge you 50-75 bucks to replace the keyboard.

If its an older laptop, Dell has been offering some AMAZING deals as of lately and you can get a nice laptop for under 1000. Some of the basics are 600 after rebates. They're tricky to find, but if you need some help looking for a deal, let me know. I am the resident nerd in my family.

I wouldn't use COMPUSA's computer repair department. Try to find a reputable computer repair guy. This doesn't sound like a big problem. Check out ComputerRepair.com. It's a nice service with lots of computer repair professionals. You should be able to get your computer fixed for a good price.

I just dropped the POS off at a reputable computer repair center this morning. I realized I'm in the wrong business. The charge $97 an hour. At thos point though I could really care less about the cost, I just want my laptop back. I feel like a broken man!

At least this gives me a reason to hit the streets today and do some offline promotion!

Jeremy,

I deal with users like you all the time. Water in the laptop is in the top 5 of ridiculous issues. If you need a new laptop let me know. Good luck.
