I am always one for clever or viral marketing. Likewise, nothing about that page offends me. I would say however if I was an operator and I was going to play the female angle, I would use something other than a beaver shot on the affiliate page to attract new affiliates.

Seriously, who remembers details about their program? Who actually read the page?

I am not opposed to images like this by any stretch But I would think as an operator trying to attract new affiliates, they would be better off doing something a little more sexy and classy.

Wow, tough crowd. Can't believe that so many people actually thought I was saying that this is what constitutes the Best Affiliate Landing Page...ever heard of sarcasm? I just thought it was a "different" approach and I thought it was pretty cool. Try not to take everything so literally. Some people really need to lighten up more and try to have more fun in their day. Take 5 minutes to get that big pickle out of your ass...

I read this post a few months back while I was talking to the moderator via email (Graham - whom I hope I did thank back then for mentioning us). I never replied back then because I was not sure it was appropriate for me (because we were unable to come to a deal as our budget is a bit less than the larger rooms). But I hope it is okay to reply to a few peoples comments, I´d like to kindly correct one or two post about us. So here they come.....

More importantly, it sends a message that they are trying to get as affiliates 14 year olds who've never seen one of those.

On the positive side, it does offer a reminder that marketing is not about getting attention. It's about getting attention to your product in a solid, effective light.

Good lesson in bad marketing.

I actually agree with you, that´s why I had the owner remove the page/picture when I became Affiliate Manager ie as soon as he began trusting me that is
I threw up a really ugly picture of myself instead because I hope this lets affiliates know who they are talking with, whether it be via email, msn or skype. I wanted it to be more personal, hopefully it worked.
