I dont know if anyone has dealt with something like this but here is my dilema: I setup my website and came up with some unique information, and have put a lot of work into it. It is not fully finished and still needs a lot of work, but I told one of my "friends" about my website a few months ago, and let him know about it. Well a few days ago he called me up and said he was starting an affiliate website.
What he didnt say was that he was CUTTING a PASTING all of my information and pictures, and putting them on "his" website. I have put in a lot of work, and now there is a mirror image of my website competing against me. Im not mad that he has an affiliate website (obv) but that all of my defintions and insight, including custom pictures and text are on his website. Even the name of his pages are the same. What do you guys think? Am I just over-reacting?

Tell him to do it the right way. I would be pissed if he copied everything. You did the work and your content is original. Both of you will be punished by the SE's for that because of the copied content. I would be especially upset if he isn't even your subaffiliate and just went ahead and did it because of the money. Some friend he is.
I have a friend who wanted to start an affiliate site so I told him that we would "do it the RIGHT way." He just wanted to copy all my info and paste it with other people's info, but I told him to just look at my paychecks when they come in the mail and believe what I tell him. He kept wanting to make banner farms so I insisted that he "not reinvent the wheel" and just listen to me. Now his site is gaining popularity and we are off to a fantastic start!
Try to do this with your friend and you shall BOTH be successful.

Thats total bs if your friend did that to you. As long as you market better then him you'll blow him out of the water.
Dont you hate people sometimes.

He actually made a point to not register as a sub-affiliate under me. He wanted to partner with me after I had taken all the risk of starting up the website and stuff. I told him that I didnt need his help. So he went ahead and did this. He is actually pretty ignorant and will never be able to succeed at this, but like it was said, all this can do is hurt my image and SEO. I dont know what I should do. The more I think of it, the more it pisses me off. I wish I had kept my mouth shut and never said anything about my website. What can be done about this. I mean I cant go copy "cardplayer.com" and call it "mywebsite.com" and steal there competion, can I?

First of all quit refering to this person as a friend. You are done with him, if someone did this to me they would be in for a suprise especially if they were a moron like you imply.
Not sure if this will work, but....
Do a whois to get his registrar information. Send him a scare letter, make it official sounding about copyright infringment, fines penalties, and inform him you have contacted his registrar as you are sure their terms of service prohibit copyright infringment as well...blahdiddyblahblahblah and send them a letter stating that THEIR customer is infringing on copyright and show them your site and his site.( just in case the WILL do something)
Make sure you put a "Copyright whateveryourwebsiteis" at the bottom of your page. Add something like" copying this site in any manner or form constitutes agrrement to pay " whateveryoursiteis" a fee of $10,000".
keep us updated and lose this friend. Play hardball.
