Default Weird Things Going On At Google....

From Natarem's blog... I've noticed this myself the last couple of days (not for my sites though)

http://www.natarem.com/2008/07/03/we...-on-at-google/

EDIT: Some sites that were ranking first page for "online poker rooms" are now ranking page 6.... for their name! Pretty scary what google is doing.

sounds like what happened to john chow from thetechzone - back in the day his blog offered backlinks to readers for reviews of his blog, etc.

then one day google just burried him in the SERPs. still had pagerank etc, and only recently his pagerank started growing again.

Could we possibly be any less productive in this thread. I mean seriously you really think that is funny. I dont.

Are you saying this thread sucks? I think it's important to know about the SERP dynamics. The sites that were affected aren't to be laughed at though I agree, although I'm sure the above poster was just joking...

I think its just a temporary glitch and though I am kinda happy because my rankings have gone up, I feel bad for people like Roger that are really nice affiliates. It will be back to normal in no time, IMO.

Does the thread suck no ...and yeah I think its important but I think the comment was just stupid. Thinking about it today I wouldnt want someone to lose out this way whether I liked them or not. Its nice to outrank someone but to see them suffer from something that they no longer have control of...thats different

Anyways, I'm glad Graham thinks this is just a glitch.

If the market were so volatile, honestly, I'd be a little concerned venturing into the poker affiliate field ...like I'm doing right now.

This should be a good lesson though... you need to factor things like this into your business plan!
