I doubt I will do that but I am fairly certain I will be contributing to the charity.

There are some poker parallels for sure but what I got was bigger than poker. Poker is such a small part of my life.

I can tell you this, for that kid to live he has to be resigned to not quitting every day of his life. So I am pretty sure I can give him at least that gift (that I will give it my full effort and not quit) and donate a portion of any potential win to his cause.

I am pretty sure if ESPN interviews me I have my topic.

I called a limper with 88. I had recently doubled to 60k. The flop was 2s 3s 5d, Owen Crowe lead for $1600 into about a $2400 pot. The original limper called and I raised to 8k. Turn brought a black 2. When he called the 15k on the turn I was certain he was on flush draw, I was also fairly certain he was going to bluff the river no matter what hit. When a 3 hit the river he pushed all in and I called instantly. He had Jh3h. He basically had 5 outs to pull off this play because I wasn't calling if a heart comes. I also think if the Jack came he probably pushes but more likely just check calls. So he hit his bingo card and played it great.

Personally I hate his call on the turn because he essentially pot committed himself forcing himself to bluff the river if he doesn't hit one of his 5 outs (and likely only 2). The flush draw was obvious.

A couple other things. He played a lot out of position and pushed more than once in the very same scenario. Also my style is very small, I raise less than 2.5 times normally and I am comfortable limping and playing post flop. So I played a lot of pots with him and he laid a lot of pots to me out of position. So it didn't surprise me one bit that he was looking to gamble because it was obvious he was tired of being pushed around.

To do well at the WSOP you have to both get lucky and avoid getting unlucky. IMO people lay hands down too much and don't try to catch bluffs and so the aggro guys do well. It just so happened I was wrong. Oh well.
