Default Torrents - Ethics and Strategy

Anyone tried using torrents to promote or gain additional signups? I know theres a lot of dodgy things that go on like people adding their codes to another torrent and re-uploading it.

Besides e-books and such what do you offer. Videos with your url in the corner? Any insight would be good on the effectiveness of using torrents.

Thanks,

Nick

Nick, I would be surprised if I saw good affiliates doing that for copyrighted files. If it is your own eBook, maybe it could work.

there is no ethics as an affiliate. You need to decide the following:

1) is what your doing illegal?
2) if its illegal is there a big enough potential reward to justify it.

Thats complete BS. All depends on what you want to be and I guess the kind of person you are.

Nick if its shady I would stay away from it. You dont want something coming back in the future to bite you in the ass for a short term gain. If its legit - legally and your not ripping someone off then give it a go...

Was thinking of it more as a different way to transfer information to users, other than the convential website road. I haven't heard of anyone doing it legit and successfully so I thought I'd put a 'feeler' question out there. If overall its just too dodgy I won't worry about it.

Thanks for the replies,

Nick

Way to make it easy for no affiliate to ever link to your website ever.

Being a sociopath has never proved to be a good business model.

That's a poor way to look at this business. And I think it's probably an insult to all professional affiliates here who are trying to build a business with integrity.

Like Beanie said in the "Ouch" thread, sometimes you're brutal.

Back to the original topic - I've never used Torrents and probably wouldn't unless it was an ebook or video. Like others have touched on, if it feels shady to you, it'll probably look shady to others. That's the last thing you want to be associated with.

Its the truth. If you havent been shit on by alot of people then you havent been around for that long enough to find out the the internet is full of scum. If you took my statement as a reflection of me, then ok, you do that. Why would that statement have anything to do with links? i dont get it PPP.

There are alot of people who screw other people over and it happens in all online industrys. Your naive if you dont think it happens in gambling affiliate biz.
