Baller (a more popular younger term) netraprenuer, money maker (how most of my african friends greet each other). intraprenuer, hussler, buisness hussler.

Should be something brandable in there.

Baller? Really?

If I saw intraweb-baller.com, I would have a completely different idea. "netrapreneur" I like. Someone copyright it quickly!

Also, keep in mind that trademark owners must actively challenge all marks that potentially infringe on their trademark, whether they want to or not, as they risk losing their trademark otherwise. As long as your site doesn't leverage the success of the Entrepreneur Magazine name, you will be fine -- they will probably challenge you eventually, out of obligation, but will be unsuccessful.

Contact an IP lawyer and they will tell you roughly the same, and offer a set of guidelines you can follow to remain on the safe side of the law. But as for the name EntrepreneurRadio.fm, you will be fine provided you create your own product and don't just ride on the magazine's coattails.

Regards,
S

Thanks for all the feedback guys. After doing more research on Entrepreneur's magazine company EMI, it seems they have sent several C&D's of which most people comply.

They have went to court on one case involving Scott Smith which they won. Nonetheless Smith is now suing them. Likewise Bill Gates recently named one of his new products Entrepreneur.

I think I may just move forward with the domain as planned. And just to make sure that people are not confused, I will put a disclaimer right on the site that states EntrepreneurRadio.fm is and independent radio show and has no relation with Entrepreneur Magazine or EMI. This way how could any judge say yep, it's very confusing to users...

I suppose if I get a C&D I can deal with it then, rebrand, 301, or even try to get some exposure for the disservice EMI is doing to every real life entrepreneur in the world.

The other brand names I liked were ones like StartUpRadio, however anything with the word startup that I found was taken. I'd rather use a .com if it isn't going to be EntrepreneurRadio.fm.

I almost suggested that. In the book, Buzzmarketing there's a good section on how controversy can create a lot of buzz. I think if they come after you, you can use EntrepreneurRadio to rally other entrepreneurs to stand up to EMI the bully.

I think you're doing the right thing. Good luck with it!

Youngentrepreneur.com seems to not have a problem, right?
