I had never even heard of this case, nor paid any attention to Poker Trillion even though I've seen there ads recently.

My initial reaction:
This makes me want to promote them now seeing as it looks like they were done wrong and had smart enough management and enough capital to take serious legal action against a giant site and won.

Anyone have a short version of the case, or opinions on it? I'd like to learn more about this - before looking into promoting these guys.

Also anyone have experience with Poker Trillion they can share.
Thanks.

A better explanation would be helpful.. I have no idea what this means or why they were suing in the first place.

Would be nice to know what the lawsuit is all about. Maybe someone from PokerTrillion could comment in this tread.

If I recall correctly the last PokerTrillion.com "press release" I remember was months ago regarding this €5m garnishee order which they claimed would mean Boss Media could not function.

Boss Media said it was made up and have continued to offer games.

The press release last time from PokerTrillion.com used a lot of excitable language (written by a teenager?) saying Boss Merdia mistreated them and had massive irregularities but you couldn't find the "press release" in mainstream media - only on a few forums.

It seems to be a dispute about fees and payouts that PokerTrillion say is owed, but none of the information says why, it seems to be related to PokerTrillion.com leaving (or being kicked out?) of the poker network.

Here is the original April 2008 release and the Boss Meida response at the time :

I still don't know what to make of it ...

Boss and Poker Trillion had a dispute and Poker Trillion got kicked off Boss for what Boss claimed was violating network policies. While this is concerning the fact that the only place that is reporting this is Poker Trillion, who doesn't exactly have a stellar rep from the ordeal, leaves me skeptical that we have heard the entire story. Wait until there is official third party coverage on this. It's hard to believe Boss would have lost its network for kicking off a skin it thought was rogue. It was reported before that Poker Trillion was booted for paying some players 50% rakeback when the cap is 30%. I hardly think they could bring the network to its knees if that was the case.

there will not be any lawsuit...

they got kicked out off the network and started a mud fight - that's all.

well, it doesn't matter - at least for me the network has way to low traffic.

PRESS RELEASE VÄXJÖ 19 AUGUST 2008f In relation to the statements made by Poker Trillion August 18 (“Trillion Limited -v- Boss Media Malta Limited and Boss Media AB”), Boss Media has issued the following statement. Poker Trillion’s recent comments are a reckless attempt to support a legal action that is without merit and initiated as retribution for their dismissal from the Boss Media network. To be clear, player funds are not affected by the current proceedings. All players’ funds are held separately under the control of the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority and cannot be seized by any court. Poker Trillion is a former customer of Boss Media who was terminated because of rake back violations. They have since then repeatedly tried to disrupt the Boss Media business through the dissemination of groundless rumors. In April 2008 Poker Trillion alleged in a press release a claim that among other things, Boss Media player funds where frozen. The allegations were false but typical of the type of tactics employed by Poker Trillion. While there has been no hearing on the merits of the Poker Trillion suit, there have been preliminary hearings on the matter. Boss Media has assured that adequate security is provided in Malta in the event of an award of damages against it which we believe to be unlikely. Boss Media is currently exploring various legal options regarding our Maltese assets and can assure that Boss Media has the requisite assets in place to ensure that our business will continue to operate with the highest standards. In the extremely unlikely event that any operations would be affected, Boss Media have high-performance back-up systems in place to ensure continued service to all our customers and their players.
