(Pokerroom Name)xxxxxx Domains - How good are they for SEO and are they allowed?

Hi All,

Wanted feedback from all fellow affiliates and Affiliate Managers.

How good are domains like (Anypokeroom Name)++++Review.com,BonusCode.com,Rakeback.com,Bon us.com for SEO for those poker rooms.

Do these domains get good organic traffic and have any of you been using such domains for poker affiliate marketing?

Also, would like to know which Poker rooms/networks allow you to register these brand name domains and use your affiliate code to get more conversions?

they are very good I find and can rank very high, only problem can be is you are limited to one targeted audience in some ways. Also ask your affiliate Manager if you are allowed to use the domain name you have chosen to make sure you can use it.

I find they're good for SEO and (if you can get the traffic to the site) convert pretty well too.

Gooderpoker mentioned that you're limiting yourself to one type of audience, but I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing - especially if this if your first site. As I say, conversions seem to be better simply because you know that visitors to your site are already interested in playing poker at the room you're promoting.

As far as rooms that allow you to include their brand in your domain name goes, it varies from room to room. Chan Poker let you do it, Titan do as well I believe but I'd suggest reading through the Terms and Conditions of the room you want to promote. And if it's not clear, get in touch with the affiliate manager and ask them.

I know where you can get one of those domains for the low price of $5000 and thats not a typo. I wont say the name but its for sale on a site like PAP but dealing with casino affiliate programs and the domain is a name of a city I think maybe the states 5th or 6th biggest followed by the name of a poker room. So its CityNamePokerRoom.com.

Also its one of those pm me for the name he would'nt list it in the thread and well that was the biggest waste of 10 seconds I'll never get back.

If you're a small affiliate, don't ask just do.
When you get caught because someone such as myself complains - act dumb, explain you were new, apologize, 301 direct it to a new site and continue to repeat process over and over again until such time you can no longer pass off the fact you're new and didn't know any better.
By that time the risk won't be worth it anyways and your biggest problem will be figuring out what to do with all the money you're making.

Pros - Can rank better but not always
targetted traffic
higher conversions in most cases but not always

Cons - hardly anyone will link to you - why because the site itself doesnt provide value
Means you will need to buy links in most cases
Poker rooms can change their mind in a split second - if they do they could also refuse to pay you
Putting all your eggs in one basket


If you are thinking of doing it you should ask first - always ask

and for the sake of writing it the majority of the xxxxpokerroom domains are taken...you will probably be left with something which needs you to have 2 - 3 hypens and will not do as well as others or a .net, .info etc which has to compete with the .com..just my thoughts


edit - not saying there is anything wrong with it but depending on how you do it it can be a plus or a negative....just check with the rooms, keep that email for your records
