Default Shame on the big rakeback sites

I am on the mailing list of most major rakeback sites (as I'm sure most of them are on mine) and I've gotten offers to have my existing UB and AP account switched to rakeback from almost all of them. I wont name any names, others can if they like, but I think this is a disgrace.

We service the high volume players primarily, and these two sites have proven time and again they cheat players. To offer the sites on your homepage is one thing (I don't, took them both down long ago) but to email players and agressivelly try and get new signups to these rooms is doing them a huge disservice.

You are pushing a product on your existing user base that is run in an unethical manner and which has a very strong chance of cheating them out of money.

You realize this was done BY chipleader, not the rb sites right?

Also, we were told one of the conditions was "not currently tagged to an affiliate" so I don't see what the problem is.

I don't promote them fwiw at the moment, but I did get the offer to convert players from chipleader.

I think you got the wrong impression, there is lots of things to shame the big rakeback sites for currently - but this isn't one of them.

Oh sorry, I misread your complaint - Agreed as well, I've had them off my site since shortly after the UB scandal was leaked back out.

Offering them on your home page is one thing. I have had to turn away a lot of business because I do not offer them. This might be a bad move in the long run as next time they need a room they may go with the other site and not me. If the customers know the information about UB and AP and still choose to play there, that is on them.

Pushing them via email campaigns and new offers is extremely unethical in my view.

Do we seriously want to start a list of what "big rakeback" companies are doing that isn't ethical? Where do we start?

I'll let this thread go it's natural direction but seriously - all it takes is some simple clicking around to see this is small potatoes.

This is very far from small potato's. I can't think of anything I have ever seen that is worse than this, other than maybe a small affiliate simply disappearing and keeping the money, though this might even be worse than that, depending on how hard the SuperUsers shaft the players who are now signing up at these crooked sites, who never would have in the first place.

All good points, 100% agreement with your above post.

It's interesting because I too have players who want to play there because they win there, go figure.

This is one of the emails I got yesterday:
Quote:

Interested in rakeback at Absolute Poker or Ultimate Bet but already have an account there?

Great news. If you haven't used your AP or UB account in the last 3 months, we may be able to switch your account to rakeback. But you need to hurry, as this offer ends October 31st.

To see if you qualify, send an email to support@xxxxxxxxxxx with your AP or UB username and let us know which room you belong to.

In the subject line of the email, please write "AP/UB Retag Request". We'll take it from there and notify you within 72 hours if you qualify.
