Default What are some good affiliate / affiliate related books?

I wanted to know which affiliate / affiliate related books were the most useful and what you got out of it. Ex. Affiliate Marketing, Negotiation or SEO books?

Thanks!

I think you could save your money and just read up on what ppl have discussed here. All the discussions that go on here are better than any author could put together. Info is up to date and if you have questions about a topic just ask.
Welcome to the forum by the way

Nah, just kidding.. there is good stuff on here, but you really need to know exactly what you are looking for. Use the search feature for specific things and you will find a ton of valuable info.

As for books, I don't think there are any that will really teach you that much about this industry. The 4 hour work week is awsome, but will make you really lazy. For books, I try and look more for motivational type things, as its hard to stay motivated all the time.

IMO the best "books" are sites that tell you things about your competitor.. most listed in that SEO Resources link above. Study what the big sites are doing, how they are making money and you will be there in no time.

Welcome to the site!

I usually try to keep up with everything the big names release and use
Code:
www.jvnotifypro.com
to do so.

I have read countless books on copy writing, seo, affiliate marketing, and any general making money online methods black or white. Knowledge is power in my opinion. There is always going to be crap floating around but I find I can pick something up out of a lot of the big name stuff nearly every time, they are always innovating and thinking outside the box in affiliate marketing.

I just watched the Dominating clickbank 2 vids and I can say although nothing was groundbreaking I learned some new things and overall they were very solid videos. Worth the price imo although there are definitely sharing forums that are dead against paying for anything mentioning the word ebooks.

I know for a fact an individual on this forum who has gone from 1k/month - $10k/month just from reading one ebook and applying the methods in it. To say all ebooks are useless is an over-generalization and ignorant, although if you go blindly looking for IM ebooks online without knowing who the authors are I'm sure it's easy to get that impression.

edit: I do half expect the OP or shill to drop a link or crazy new ebook in a few posts down...

There are many free and good SEO ebooks over internet. Here is a very useful one, written by Brad Callen:

About negotiation skills, affiliate marketing etc., you have to do a lot of research and hard work. Also search the PAP forums and you will get a lot of useful info.

For negotiations I could give you a book but honestly you are better off learning by experience and/or just networking with some people in the industry. Even though you might be competition to some affiliates they will help. A great book is Trump Style negotiations but it will take you a long time to apply those concepts and they are better suited for buying a car or house than dealing with an affiliate manager.

After that I think PAP is one of the top resources on the net.

Read You Can Negotiate Anything by Herb Cohen. It's one of the best books on the subject of negotiating that you'll ever read.

The free briefs on http://www.marketingexperiments.com/ can be helpful in developing a good mindset regarding testing and measuring. (Sorry it's not a book.)

The "Mister X" book by Jay Abraham has some insightful stuff in it that you can apply to an affiliate marketing career, even though a lot of it is aimed at brick and mortar businesspeople.

Best Book's I've Read

"Make A Fortune Promotion Other People's Stuff Online" - A very good overview of the affiliate market, how to get started, make money and some really good seo tips for beginners. Pretty much a overview on getting started, finding offers, seo research and making deals.

Also more importantly some very good points on what to avoid doing, and making the most from your sites.

This is a very good book for beginners and advanced affiliates, i'd been affiliating for a year or so before this purchase, and although i haven't read the entire book from what i have read i know that if i'd read this before starting i'd have saved a ton of money, and more importantly 100's of hours!

"Web Copy That Sells" - This books perfect for maximising your sites conversions, and also would work well for anything involving selling something, classified ads, PPC marketing etc.

Some great sections including "Capturing Email Addresses", "Words tell, emotions sell", "From Prospects to Purchasers", all of these are fantastic and theres much more i can honestly say from reading this book i've created copy that does sell, and i have re-wrote a page that's increased that page ALONE's signup's by 300%! Although some of the stuff you will probably know anyway, this book shows you how to implement them, without making your site look like a giant ad.

Hope these suggestions help.
