It's Page Rank 4?

Hello all,

i bought a domain a while back and put some rough content up.

i since took it off and left it alone, didn't do any seo but for some reason it's got a pagerank of 4 and loads of backlinks.

Anyone any idea how this could happen?

I've juyst been asked how much i want for the domain even though i haven't put it for sale.

I have no idea what to ask for it or if it's worth keeping and working on?

It's a .co.uk bingo domain.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

One possibility is that you've had some great articles, someone submitted it to some websites like digg/stumbleupon, and after that many other people visited your website and those who loved it created links to it on their blogs/websites.

I guess it's natural link building.

Did a bit of digging around and it seems there was an all singing all dancing bingo site on it in 2006.

Would you suggest selling the domain? if so what's it worth (i know thats a very broad and often stupid question)

Or develope it and hope to keep or improve the pr?

It's usually the buyer's responsibility to make the offer. If you don't like it, negotiate. If they have any clue what they're doing they're not looking at the pr but the brand name or possible KID value...unless it's already ranking decently for given keywords.

Tune up the site, make some steady cash and then flip it for 10-30 times you're making per month.

I am guessing whoever you previously bought the site from had done some SEO or your content got indexed by some search engines without you doing much to make this happen. Anyway it's a nice added bonus and should help you trade for more good links in the future!
