I read a post at Aaron Wall's SEO
blog today where he discussed the difference between
exposure and engagement. The point that he makes is that it's more profitable in the long term to have a deeper, more passionate community engaged in your site than it is to have a shallower, less committed community who see your site but aren't "engaged".
And last night, I was talking with another webmaster who I respect a great deal about his attempts to reduce his bounce rate.
Usually when I start getting multiple "messages from the universe" like this, I try to take a hint. I'm good at getting a lot of traffic, but I'm not sure that I always engage my traffic as well as I might.
Does anyone have thoughts about this?
