Yea I like the idea of giving the discs away as free entries into a major tournament versus just a basic poker site. This way users feel that the CD and software actually has value versus being just another CD from a poker site.
If you treat the CD like a "free ticket" I think it would work better. Perhaps you even include a marketing piece about the tournament with the CD and explain that you work for xxxx poker site and have been given 100 entries to give away. This will give the perception of value and entice people to use your CD versus just tossing it.
