HELP! i'm frustrated. i'm trying to create a new empire poker user on a machine that had party installed on it previously. i am able to create the user, but am unable to log in and do the cashier stuff. apparently there is a file or a registry key that empire checks before it allows you to log in. i was told to delete H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Calculator/mode, but i believe that is the key you must delete if you had empire installed and want to create a new user on party, and not vice versa. tried it anyway but it didn't work. help!!!

HKLM (or is it hkcu, don't remember) -> SOFTWARE -> PARTYPOKER.

There you go.

Hope this helps,

did you remove empire, edit the registry to get rid of the partyPoker stuff, then re-download the empire software and try it from there?

and if you did, did you use the same userID that didn't work the first time?

i'm curious about this.

yes. i was able to create the user, but unable to log in as him so i could set up the cashier information, etc.

i read on the internet that in addition to the registry check empire is also checking IP addresses and seeing if they've logged into party in the last 30 days. not sure how true this is...

bugger. i caught this:
"EmpirePoker and PartyPoker track new accounts by IP address, so if you've been actively playing at PartyPoker from a specific IP address within the last 30 days, EmpirePoker will not allow you to establish your LOGIN NAME and PASSWORD from that IP. " at Flop Turn River - exactly what you said.

i didn't do a full fledged search, but if there was a pack of people that would know the workarounds, i would expect these guys to be on the list: bonus whores message boards

best of luck with it. if you do find a solution, could you post it?

well, i've got 5 different boxes at home and can't connect with any of them despite the uninstall and registry delete. i took my laptop to two different places, one of which i'd played at and one of which i hadn't. neither one was successful. i am imagining that there must be a file or registry entry that we don't know about which is checked. someone, somewhere must have an answer.

I was always told to create the account initially on another computer. Than download the empire software and you are good to go. I've used this method and never had a problem. I would uninstall the Empire software. Go somewhere else and create your account. Than download again and log in.
