My first private tournament...wahoo

Ran my first private tournament last week. We had 27 players actually play. 15 new sign-ups and a total of 30 sign-ups. Several people signed up, but didn't deposit and play in the tournament.

At 15 sign-ups, I make $1,025 (CPA deal) if they all get the required points. I know a few have already. Also, I wasn't dumb enough to have my tournament at a $10 deposit place. All my player have at least $40 to play with ($50 min - $10 tournament).

My expenses:
A site = $100
3 $40 bounties = $120
2 SEC Championship Football game tickets or a $225 cash option = $225.

I got over 120 emails for this tournament. If you offer value, they will come.

The winner was DoubleLucky from Filltilt who is the #6 ranked player in the world by www.pocketfives.com

I'm considering the tournament a winner.

OUCH - he mainly plays on full tilt right now. Your going to be sorry if he ever moves his play over to Party

My guess is that his tourney was at FullTilt and that DoubleLucky played in the tournament anyways even though he wasn't on his tracker. Just my guess though.

yeah, it was on Fulltilt and doublelucky already had an account, so he wasn't a new sign up.

Of the 27 players who played, only 15 were new sign ups. I didn't restrict it to only new sign ups because I didn't think I could get enough players. I was hoping for around 30 or so with around half being new sign ups. That's about what I got.

I picked FTP for two reasons. 1) they offer private tournaments, and 2) they have a $50 min deposit.

I wanted to avoid places like pokerroom where the min deposit is $10. At least if they have to deposit $50, they are more likely to play more and reach the CPA min hands played.
