confusion about domain names

guys,

Just a little confused about all the domain names. Some people have said they have over three hundred domain names. I dont really understand what you do with all of them, does everyone just reserve a good one in hopes of making a page one day or do you use the names to somehow link to another page??? very confused about this, do i need to start thinking of as many good domain names as I can then buying them? I can build sites, so do i build one for every name or what? very confused here.

Domain names are worthless themselves, except for obvious winners like poker.com. There are several ways to make money online. One is to simply make lots of sites. A different way is to make one or a few deeper quality sites. There isn't much point in talking about which is better because it is a matter of preference, but in your case if you don't have a reason or a burning desire to make tons of domains, don't.

300 domain names and if they all get one type in visit a day = 300 visitors.

I own around 70 roulette domains all being redirected to my roulete website.

It is a bit of both for us, some sites we have plans for to use a specific domain name and others are just great type-ins... it all creates traffic to the main page.

if you have a specific idea that you want to work on right now then you should definately buy a domain name or two (or three or five if you think it is a good enough idea). PPP did say it right too though, if you don't have at least 1 quality site that the domains can either re-direct to, or drive traffic too then they are probably a wasted investment.

On the subject of domain names...
I'm thinking about getting a site made with either canada or brant (for brantford) in the URL... One question should I gear it towards just my town and include the town name in the url or would it be better to gear the site towards the entire country of Canada?
