Okay this isn't a complaint against the affiliate department but I think this is a pretty shitty way to treat someone who has played at Party for years and probably donated literally thousands of dollars to the rake. Heaven forbid I take a 30 day break from playing with real money on your site. Having bonus points expire if you don't play real money for 30 days is the most retarted bonus point structure I have ever seen. Why even bother offering bonus points.

I don't need anymore Party shirts or hats so I am not pissed about losing 14,933 points, it's just the principal. Maybe a friendly reminder would be nice a few days before the points expire too.......Furthermore, for a multi-billion dollar company...........thats a pretty stingy business model. You just took 14,000+ points I earned and flused them down toilet. Do you really think this is going to incentivise a player to deposit and earn more?

Again, this is nothing against the fine people in their affiliate department.

Dear PokerBulls,

Our records show that your Party Points account has been inactive for more than 30 days.!

The 14933 Party Points in your account expired at 23:59 hrs on 24-DEC-05.

The balance of your current Party Points account is: 0 Points.

In future, should you wish to save your points, all you have to do is log in and play at a Real Money table within 30 days of your last Real Money game.

NB: You must play at a Real Money table to accrue and save Party Points. Logging in alone will not prevent your Party Points from expiring. Your Party Points will expire only if you accumulate zero Party Points for a period of 30 days. See Terms and Conditions.

So, don't lose out – keep your account active*. You'll keep the Party Points you play so hard to earn – and you'll have fun re-discovering the excitement on PartyPoker.com!

See you at the tables.

Kind regards,

I agree, that's a horrible policy. If you compare this to the typical brick and mortar casino in Las Vegas, it's way off. In Vegas, your comp points usually last for at least 1 year.

Maybe someone from Party will see this thread and re-think their policy.

That is very stupid....I experienced something similar at Pacific Poker - they have a similar bonus structure, but the points can only be exchanged to $. I had my bonus account frozen because I was a winning player..........

Party also has problems actually sending the stuff. I qualified for a free hat back in January and they never sent it. It was in the my account section for a long time saying it would be shipped soon, but they finally just deleted it. I also ordered a shirt right before my points expired and never received it. I really don't care about the items, but like you said, its the principal. Plus I'm sure there are people who actually do care about the free items.

I have piles of points but don't know how to use them other then by joining their special tourneys. How do I get to the Party store?

I had about 2,000 points expire on me and when I logged in to see what was going on, it gave me the option to "renew" them.

I was going to make a post about this a month or so ago, but didn't want to rock the boat, because I'm otherwise pretty happy with party's affiliate program.

For a Billion Dollar company they sure come up with some bone-headed ideas.

The best comparison I could make is to frequent flyer programs. Can you imagine how many pissed off customers an airline would have if the points expired so rapidly. Only one airline (Southwest) comes to mind with such a quick expiration date (1year, I believe)

The whole point of a loyalty points system is to (dugh) build loyalty.

Does Party really think that their players don't have lives besides poker? Players don't go on vacation? Have families to attend to? take business trips?

Their 30 day policy is a joke, and a slap in the face to customer loyalty. At a minimum it should be like 90 days. As long as I'm complaining about the points program, they should at least have something decent to buy with the points. The points almost have no value. I mean how many t-shirts and hats can a guy wear at one time. How about some real products to trade points for.
