Today I found a site at google's blogger.com that copied word for word every article on my site. I sent the owner a cease and desist (I don't expect it to have any effect), I notified Party Poker, Google Adsense (he's running google ads on the site), and I notified blogger.com support.

The email I received back from blogger.com support said "We will review your message and respond as soon as possible."

So do you guys think google will take down the site? Should I just wait a bit and see what happens? Is there another email for google I should contact other than the blogger support?

This is unusual in that normally I would contact the offenders web host. But in this case it's Google.

What would you guys do? This stupid thing completely has ruined my day

Party or other cardrooms are your most effective ally. These scum are spreading but they normally fold up immediately when their accounts are jeopardized.

Yeah, this stuff happens to us all the time. Our lawyer takes down like five to ten infringing sites a month. Using DMCA on Google is probably not too hard. I've never actually done it myself (that's what the lawyer is for), but you can find the general information here:

http://www.google.com/dmca.html

and

http://www.chillingeffects.org/dmca512/not...i?NoticeID=1701

and

http://www.copyright.gov/onlinesp/agents/google.pdf (has google's phone number).

I'm not sure if you are suppose to send the DMCA notice to Google directly or if Blogger has a separate office, but try calling the number listed in that pdf file. Or, you can just send the DMCA notice to Google and they might just direct it to Blogger for you.

Good luck! This copyright thing sucks.

P.S. Is that site just copying your content or is it copying a lot of other people's content as well? If it is also copying other people's content, you should contact those other webmasters. Sometimes other webmasters are even more pissed off than you are and might help you out with some of the DMCA stuff.

Thanks so much for the help guys, I made a book mark for each of the links.

You guys will get a kick out of how this ended so I think I'll start a new thread about the resolution. It's amazing.
