If you are currently promoting Ultimate Bet you possibly have lost ~20% of your referrals as a result of a known tracking issue.

It appears that UB has a problem tracking hits sent via the Firefox browser and as such you have lost approximately 20% of your referrals based upon the average market usage of that particular browser.

UB has stated they have known about this issue for quite some time, yet we do not recall them ever making a public announcement either by website, email, or otherwise, regarding what we consider to be a very important tracking issue.

Have any of you ever been notified of this issue? If so, how?

I was very lucky to even find out this issue existed, my first signup with UB (my site's only 4 weeks old) e-mailed me, when I checked my stats nothing showed up.

For those interested there is also a thread here: http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/...tebet.9463.html

Nothing but a polite 'tough luck' from UB in response.

(P.S am I allowed to post links here?! Can't see anything against in the rules)

ahhh so you are one of those that are being affected. Others have complained about this as well - we have been in touch with UB.

Apparently they have known about this issue for quite some time. They have tried to pass it off as being no secret, however I have don’t recall them ever mentioning it to affiliates as an issue.

That’s why we are interesting in knowing if anyone has heard about this issue before. It's possible we just overlooked or missed a prior announcement, either that or they have been knowingly benefiting off of affiliates without notifying them of the potential problem?

Yea that really sucks if people aren't getting credited for users who sign up via Firefox. I know the Income Access group and Mark over at UB monitor this board quite frequently. Hopefully having the issue posted over at IGAMI and on this site will light a fire under their a** to get the issue resolved.

Yes, hopefully they will get it resolved really soon.

In the mean time we have a problem with them apparently knowing about this issue for some time and not making a public announcement as such.

If they knew about a tracking issue why haven't they informed their affiliate base about it? I believe keeping this information privileged or sharing it only with a select few is unethical.

Good job bringing this to light, Poker Prof.

You said this in the CA thread:

Ultimate bet: "Unfortunately Firefox can be a problem for a lot of different affliate programs"

That's interesting. We should ask UB to name some names. If the statement is true, they should have no problem providing proof. It would be good to know what other rooms are screwin--um, I mean experiencing technical difficulties.

The fact that not all rooms have this problem means UB isn't working hard enough on resolving this problem. Because obviously some other folks have figured out a way around it.

The 20% estimate might be low if you consider what niche market you are targeting.

Most tech-savvy people I know use Firefox. These people trust technology, have been buying stuff on Amazon and Ebay for years, know how to operate simple software--i.e. these people are my prime customers!

Moreover, a lot more than 20% of the college students and recent graduates I know use Firefox. Firefox has awesome extensions and browsing functions that IE just cannot compete with.

I'm sure I remember reading at another affiliate site that FF might cause problems with tracking at aces.com....but can't for the life of me recall the site I'll keep tyring to find it. I'd like to figure out a way to find out how many other rooms have the same fault.

I was flabbergasted when UB admitted they knew full well what was going on, and even more flabbergasted to find out that they have never seen fit to tell affiliates about this. The quote above is taken directly from communications received from UB.

As the days and weeks go by the treatment I am receiving from a few other poker rooms is comparable....but that's another story.

Anyway, I am getting some satisfaction that letting others know might help solve this problem in the future.

I no longer advertise for UB on priniciple, which is a shame, I personally think their software is great and believe my visitors would too.

Nothing from UB for a few days on this either......I'm interested to hear what developments come via igami and others.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Firefox's market share will go through the roof now that Google has included it in its Google Pack, Google's package of "essential softwares."

IE is going to lose plenty of marketshare. Firefox is a superior product and now it has the massive marketing power of Google behind it.

If UB thinks it can ignore Firefox, it is sadly mistaken.

I remember reading that exact thing, although I didn't remeber aces.com

Three different issues here: firefox in general, income access, ultimatebet

And then the other issue of whether it is problem elsewhere but nobody fesses up to it.

ZDNet has a little article on firefox market share in Europe..

They are saying firefox has achieved over a 20 percent market share in Europe.

Firefox will continue to grow. These are a lot of potential players that are being missed.
