weird e-mail from pokerlistings

I got this e-mail from pokerlistings.com yesterday.

Hi,

I work for Pokerlistings.com. I've been surfing your site for a while and I'm interested to know if you would like to discuss the opportunity to revice original content and a poker odds calculator (it's free) to add to your site.

The next email went on to tell me to send her a list of poker topics so the writers could get to work.

I politely passed on the oppurtunity.

Anyone else get the same e-mail?

If you have a link to them on your site, and send them some traffic, they will do this to get more links on your site. It might not be that bad of an idea, I know of one member here who has done this, maybe they will comment on it.

I have the calc and quite a few articles from them....

Ironically, i got the same email and already have what he was offering....

i got the same email, i think they are testing the calculator, if you look on their site it says "Welcome to the Poker Odds Calculator Test Version" i have put it on my site and they are working on articles for me to use on the my sites, i dont think its that bad of an idea, they say you will get original content that will only be used on your site and they will write about whatever you like. As far as the links back to pokerlistings goes, im not to thrilled about that, but im going to test it out and see how it goes, its not a bad site to be involved with! you can take a look at the calculator on my site Odds Calculator

The only reason I rejected is because Im 100% capable of writing my own articles and have enough money to hire a programmer for a calculator if I really wanted one.

The backlinks required are a lot smaller than I imagined.

thanks, im not done with the page im going to put alot of content on the page as to divert people away from the links back to pokerlistings

The calculator is really nice and the backlinks are not really a problem. Unfortunately I can't configure it to work properly. I've installed all three versions (php,jps,asp):

... but it seems my server does not allow the calculator to get the results from pokerlistings. Anyone has an idea what may cause this?

your server should allow it, did you change the config.xml and did you change the code from your-path to modules in the 4 places you are suppost to?
