Just received the following email from World Sports Exchange...
Wonder what, if any impact this will have...
Dear World Sports Exchange Client:
World Poker Exchange is about to turn the online poker industry on its head. Starting today, we'll be completely eliminating the rake from the real-money games in our poker room, regardless of table limit or game type. This makes World Poker Exchange the world's only venue where it's completely free to play poker-and yes, that includes tournament play as well.
The house rake is poker's silent killer, and depending on how much you play you could be losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month. Use our handy rake calculator to see how much money you've been leaving on the table.
To start receiving the benefits of No Rake Poker, just sit down and start playing. If you have a World Sports Exchange account, you already have a poker account as well.
Each week, we will simply tabulate the total amount of rake that you contributed (including tournament fees), and return 100% of that amount to your account. You can transfer funds seamlessly between your sportsbook and poker accounts at any time.
We believe poker should be a fun, free service available to all our customers, rather than a means to "rake" them over the coals. With the advent of No Rake Poker, World Poker Exchange is now the only place where it truly pays to play.
Best Regards,
World Sports Exchange

Interesting indeed.

From the screen shots they look a lot like a Paradise skin.....but I could be wrong about that.
Rake free online poker? ....... must look into this when I have the time.

Just to clarify...my understanding is that the rake is still there, but your portion is returned to you 100%.
Its a 100% rakeback situation.
My guess is this...they are going to keep the normal rake system in place and add a system to repay the players, that way if this doesnt work as hoped, all they do is eliminate (turn off) the payback system and the normal system isnt affected.

I guess they have finally given up on poker, and now look at poker as just a way to get more sports bets.

Seems like a pretty good idea. Conceptually bring in a ton of poker players and hope they go astray to their casinos and sports books.

I emailed them about affiliation...
Because of our new No Rake program, our affiliate promotion has been discontinued. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Best regards,

Hope they go astray to their casinos and sports books?
You know many of them will.
Even I make the odd sports bet and play a little Black Jack and I don't consider myself a gambler by any stretch.

Yes, it does seem to be an excellent strategy, and someone was bound to do it eventually. If we ever get past the legal issues, it won't be long before Yahoo, M$, Walmart, etc. will have their own free poker rooms too.

If they believe that offering rake free poker would be profitable for their business over-all?.....sportsbook and casino...... why would they discontinue their affiliate program and not increase their player base?
Makes no sence to me.
PPP?..... any insights?
