Who promotes casino's here? It's funny, when I first got started in the online gambling sector I had a casino/sportsbook and made a killing...........(long story on what happened, I'll save that for another day) But I would love to hear thoughts from those of you that cross promote.

I think in terms of quality content or gaining conversions, casino players are much more impulsive. Hence with a casino site, it is more about getting the excitement level pumped up and selling "the chance of winning". With poker players it really varies on what is going to make people convert from your affiliate link or refferal.

In this day and age I also think it is critically important to "give people a reason to sign up". In the old days the options of where to play online was so limited that it didn't matter. You could literally have a banner farm and do some ppc advertising and you WOULD see conversions. Damn, those were the days.

I'm not sure if casino advertising is still the same way, but with poker, most players who produce a fair amount of rake already have 10 poker accounts at various places. You better give them a damn good reason to try out a new site.

Very true, I think casino players are generally "sicker" than poker players who consider themselves to some basis as skill players, rather than shooters. The beauty of the poker industry is that there are literally 10 year olds playing poker on my block outside on the road, it is now cool, so we have years of new players still to come that arent signed up to any rooms .

I want John Daly on my tracker code. Anyone else read that he lost 40 million in casinos. Rediculous for a guy who is rich but not that rich.

Casinos are more fun to promote because you can score pretty big. Just less consistent.

Of course John didn't just go broke from casinos. He had other bad habits as well. My assumption is that he didn't have a very good financial planner.
