Default Buying Ad Space on Non poker related sites

Hello all,
I'm am a new poker affiliate, and have a question about banner ads on non poker related sites. I have the opportunity to buy a prime location ad on a webpage that gets 70K successful page loads a month. The content is constantly updated, and the viewing base is primarily 18-30 year olds.

My question is this: Should I send the $250.00 on the ad for a month and see what happens? I would set it up to where it went right to whichever poker site I choose to promote on there. I am thinking about either Party or Full Tilt, as they seem to be two of the more promoted, trusted sites by new players.

Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks,
-w-

Local radio station. One of the sister stations (the one with 210K page view per month) already has somebody promoting poker on it.

Eh, you never know. Banner advertising sucks imo.

You probably won't starve investing $250. Try it. See what happens.

I would definitely try it out. Advertising is a trial and error process and you will never know unless you try.

If you're new and $250 seems like a lot, I wouldnt try it. When I started out I did some paid advertising on some sites for $150 a month and really got nothing for it. I basically bought a lot of paid advertising on sports sites and things like that and waisted around $700. I know thats not much money, but when you first start out it's a huge hit to someone who doesn't have much money in the first place.

This was all before I realized how to run a successful site. I say you should put that into SEO links on some good sites and build up your site's pagerank with it.
